Aesthetician Services Home

In addition to dermatological care, our medical aestheticians provide an array of service that promote and maintain your skin in optimal condition. Their expertise includes problem skin conditions, especially adult acne. In addition to making your skin feel good, many of the services and procedures promote renewal that often enhances the color and texture of your skin. Most of these in-office services are formulated in conjunction with a home skin care program that may include one or more of the following products: an alpha-hydroxy acid cream (Gly Derm®,  M.D. Forté®), a retinoic acid cream (Retin-A®, Renova®), Kinerase®, and an array of products offered by Dermalogica®. These products are available in our office. For additional information about these products, or for information on how to order them, just click on the product name.

European Facial

The European Facial restores and maintains your optimal skin texture and tone by soothing vapors that provide a thorough deep pore cleaning. Mild brushing and facial massage exfoliates dry surface cells and debris. The accumulation of these cells can contribute to less than your optimal skin tone. Custom-blended masque and relaxing face, neck, and shoulder massage completes the treatment. A personal skin care regimen will be recommended that will promote gentle exfoliation and enhance hydration so that your skin will look and feel as healthy as possible.

MiniPeels or LunchTime Peels

These light chemical peels, also know as fruit peels, involve the application of a naturally occurring mild exfoliating agent, an alpha-hydroxy acid. These are so mild that many people have them done during their lunch break, before returning to work. Because of this, they have come to be called LunchTime peels. This treatment promotes clearer, smoother skin while encouraging cell renewal. In addition, for those with acne prone skin, these MiniPeels promote the removal, and reduce the development, of blackheads and whiteheads. Usually a series of six treatments is recommended in conjunction with a home skin care maintenance program. This individualized home program is designed to minimize the appearance of fine lines, dry skin, splotchy pigmentation and other undesirable effects of long term sun exposure. A series of minipeels is often repeated every 6 to 12 months to maintain your optimal skin health.

Microdermabrasion

The procedure is often referred to by diffferent names such as the Radient Peel™, PowerPeel™, DermaPeel™, and ParisianPeel™, among others. Microdermabrasion is a technique that exfoliates surface cells and debris. It is the accumulation of these cells and debris that makes the skin have a dull, rough, lusterless appearance. It provides somewhat deeper exfoliation than is provided by MiniPeels. Microdermabrasion provides the skin with a smoother feel and attempts to enhance subtle irregularities in skin color and texture. The technique involves tiny crystalline particles which impact the skin, dislodging skin cells and debris in the outermost layers. Although the skin may be pink for a few hours, or longer, immediate return to work and normal activities is possible. Treatments are initially performed once every two weeks and then monthly. In conjunction with Microdermabrasion, a skin care regimen is recommended based upon your particular skin care needs. This is determined at the time of your initial consultation.

Acne Skin Treatment

This is a thorough treatment program for anyone with acne-prone skin. After deep vapor cleansing of your face, treatment begins with a papaya peel to remove surface cells and debris. Extraction of blackheads and whiteheads is followed by a clay masque. A home skin care program, in conjunction with any medical treatment for your acne, is formulated. This program is meant to enhance your skin's texture and tone while minimizing the development of new blemishes.

Seaweed and Aloe Back Treatment

An ultimate pampering and relaxing treatment that begins with a gentle back and shoulder massage. This is followed by a natural seaweed and aloe scrub that not only contributes to a more radiant and supple appearance but aids in moisturizing your skin.
