Dr. Green has been specializing in the treatment of hair loss, for both men and women, since completing his fellowship in hair replacement surgery following his dermatology residency training. Both non-surgical and surgical options are discussed and recommendations offered at the time of your initial consultation.

Medical Management
Currently there are two FDA approved medications for hair loss management. These are Rogaine™ and Propecia™. Both are used to limit progression of hair loss as well as to regrow hair that has already been lost. Some have greater success than others do. They are both much more effective at slowing progression than at regrowth. Therefore, the earlier a man begins treatment, the greater the chance of success.
Surgical Management
If medical means of stabilizing hair loss are unsuccessful, surgical intervention can be considered. Hair Transplantation involves the surgical redistribution of skin and hair on the scalp. That is, they are skin grafts obtained from the back and sides of the scalp and transplanted to the sites where hair has been lost. It is usually a multiple-staged process. Hair Transplantation techniques vary based upon the size and shape of the transplanted grafts. Terms such as micrografting and minigrafting refer to the size of the grafts. Slit and round grafts refer to their shape. In addition to Hair Transplantation, other surgical techniques are sometimes utilized, including Scalp Reduction and Scalp Flaps.
